South Carolina Lt. Governor Pamela Evette and Irmo Mayor Bill Danielson observed opening day for the SC Career Kids summer camp at the Center for Advanced Technical Studies June 2.
Thirty-two children will be engaged the week of June 2 – 5 in activities that include culinary arts, media technology, fire and rescue, veterinary science, agriculture, biomedical and aerospace engineering.

“The Town of Irmo has always proudly supported SC Career Kids from it’s humber beginning in the Greater Irmo Chamber of Commerce house,” said Mayor Danielson. “Katy Wiggs understands these children are the future and she has put together a great support network.”
SC Career Kids is dedicated to the future leaders and future workforce of South Carolina by providing opportunities to help develop and retain young individuals at various stages in their education and expose them to future career explorations.

“Thanks to the support of local leaders, schools, business partners and all our volunteers we continue to grow,” said Wiggs. “We’re serving thousands across the state and more are to come.”
