The Center to Hold Open House September 22

CHAPIN, S.C. — The Center for Advanced Technical Studies (The Center) will open its doors to the community September 22 for an open house from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at 916 Mt. Vernon Church Road in Chapin.

The Center serves students in grades 9–12 throughout School District Five and offers specialized courses through 17 Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs.

Programs include Agriculture/Wildlife Management, Auto Repair Technology, Bioengineering Systems, Biomedical Science, Building Construction, Culinary Arts, Cybersecurity/Networking, Digital Art and Design, Drone Technologies, Electrical Systems, Engineering/Engineering Design, HVAC, Law Enforcement, Fire & Rescue, Media Technology, Veterinary Science and Welding.

During the open house, visitors will have the opportunity to tour the school, including classrooms and labs. Parents, students and community members can meet teachers and current students, ask questions and learn more about the programs and curriculum offered at The Center.

“This event opens the doors to the public and district families to showcase the many college and career-focused opportunities available to our students in School District Five,” said School District Five Assistant Director of The Center Roy Frick. “The incredible work of our CTE instructors at The Center prepares students for the workforce now and provides a rigorous foundation for students pursuing postsecondary studies. We look forward to inviting our community to view the excellence of CTE in School District Five.”
