Irmo Mayor Bill Danielson presents SC Career Kids CEO Katy Wiggs with a $30,000 check on behalf of the Town of Irmo.
The Town of Irmo recently awarded $30,000 to SC Career Kids, a nonprofit organization focused on career exploration and skills development for children.
“The town believes in the future of our children,” said Mayor Bill Danielson. “Whether it be an individual, a town, or a community, we all need to get behind nonprofits like this because of who they serve.”
Founded during the 2020 pandemic as a single classroom initiative, SC Career Kids has grown into a comprehensive educational resource that guides children through meaningful career exploration at multiple stages of their education.
“We teach kids to problem solve and communicate,” said SC Career Kids CEO Katy Wiggs. “Our programs are designed for all children to explore careers interactively with skilled experts in their fields.”
The funding will support SC Career Kids’ continued expansion and its mission to prepare students with essential skills while exposing them to a wide range of career opportunities.
