Two vape shops in the town of Irmo have earned suspended business licenses due to the sale and possession of items that are prohibited under South Carolina law.
Lake Murray Tobacco & Vape, 952 Lake Murray Blvd. Unit A and CBD Farmacy/Mora Wellness LLC vape shop at 7971 Woodrow Street were presented with letters from Town Administrator Courtney Dennis informing them to cease business operations immediately or face additional charges.

A third business located on Harbison Blvd. in Columbia was also served for violations and is owned by the same individuals that control the Lake Murray Blvd. store.
The letters state that ‘On June 17, 2025, the Irmo Police Department conducted a law enforcement operation at your location. During this operation, the business was found to be selling items and in the possession of items that are prohibited under South Carolina law, including violations of the Controlled Substances Act. These violations constitute unlawful activity directly related to the operation of the business. As a result, your business license is hereby suspended, effective immediately, pending a hearing before the Irmo Town Council or its designee to determine whether the suspension should be upheld and the license revoked.’
“Delta-8 THC may look and sound like regular marijuana, but it poses serious risks, especially because it’s often unregulated and easily accessible to young people,” said Irmo Chief of Police Bobby Dale. “The public needs to understand that just because it’s marketed as legal or natural’ doesn’t mean it actually is legal.”
A hearing will be held at the next Irmo Town Council meeting on July, 15 to determine the status of the suspension and an opportunity for the businesses to ‘present evidence, testimony or explanations regarding the violations.’ They may be represented by counsel at the time.
The case is still under investigation. No arrests have been made at this time.
