Why I Support Mike Ward for Irmo Town Council

As a business owner who serves the Irmo community, I know how important it is to have strong and steady leadership at the local level. I may not live in Irmo, but I care deeply about its future. That’s why I’m proud to support Mike Ward for Irmo Town Council.

Mike brings something rare to the table. He has real-world business experience combined with the kind of people skills that are too often missing in public life. I’ve seen how he works. He listens carefully, thinks things through, and follows up with action. These are the qualities I respect most in a leader.

Professionally, Mike is sharp. He runs a successful cybersecurity business and understands how to manage complex projects, budgets, and deadlines. That kind of experience matters. It means he knows how to look at the big picture while still paying attention to the details. In my line of work, I know how valuable that skill set is, and I believe it will serve the Town of Irmo well.

But what impresses me even more is the way Mike treats people. He leads with respect and empathy. No matter who he’s talking to, he makes people feel heard. He takes the time to learn from others and never assumes he has all the answers. That kind of humility and thoughtfulness is exactly what we need on Town Council.

Mike already has a long track record of serving the Irmo community. He has volunteered his time in schools, on various non-profit boards, and through local events like the Okra Strut. He does not show up for the attention. He shows up because he cares and because people trust him to get things done.

Irmo is facing some big decisions in the years ahead. With growth on the horizon, the town will need leaders who can make smart choices about infrastructure, development, and community priorities. Mike understands those challenges. He knows how to plan, how to communicate clearly, and how to stay focused on what matters most, keeping Irmo a great place to live, work, and do business.

I believe Mike will bring a practical, steady hand to local government. He is the kind of leader who builds consensus, solves problems, and does not back down from hard work. He is not looking for the spotlight. He is looking for ways to help.

If you haven’t had a chance to meet Mike, I hope you will. He is approachable, honest, and grounded. And he is ready to serve Irmo in a greater capacity.

Irmo deserves thoughtful, experienced leadership. I believe Mike Ward is the right choice!

Sincerely,

Rhonda Wise
