The Irmo Police Department has made an arrest as a result of an investigation into a shooting incident that occurred on September 4th, 2022.
Khartae Bethel (D.O.B. 03/25/2003) was arrested this morning and charged with Attempted Murder, Possession of a Weapon During the Commission of a Violent Crime and Carrying a Weapon on School Property. Bethel was involved in an altercation with the victim who was a passenger in a vehicle and fired several rounds striking the vehicle. The victim was not injured, and the shooting incident took place at a local school during the nighttime hours when no students were present. There is no ongoing threat to the school or community.
This case is still being investigated as efforts are being made to identify other suspects in this case.
