Malik Canty turned himself into the police earlier this morning.
Irmo Police Department had obtained arrest warrants for Malik Rashoid Canty (25) of Columbia, SC, for Burglary 1 st , Attempted Murder, Kidnapping, Domestic Violence of a High and Aggravated Nature and Possession of a Weapon During the Commission of a Violent Crime.
Irmo Officers responded to a domestic with a gunshot wound in the Irmo Village Apartment Complex around 1:30 am on August 7, 2022. Once on scene, they found a person with a gunshot wound to the leg. Officers were able to apply a tourniquet and stop the bleeding.
Officers learned that Canty forced his way into the residence armed with a gun. Once inside, he assaulted the occupant of the residence and then shot another person. He fled the scene in a white 2010 Lexus ES300,
