The Town of Irmo has named Carolina Charcuterie Company its newest Business of the Quarter.
Located at 7971 N. Woodrow Street, Suite 2, the local business has quickly become a popular destination for premium food, wine and handcrafted culinary experiences since opening in 2020.
Founded by Tony Malizia, Carolina Charcuterie Company offers handcrafted charcuterie boards, gourmet sandwiches, premium wines, specialty gifts and full-service catering. The business also features what it describes as the Midlands’ only Build-Your-Own Charcuterie experience, allowing customers to create their own personalized culinary displays.
The company also operates a Monthly Charcuterie Club, delivering curated charcuterie boxes to members each month.
For Malizia, the recognition represents a continuation of more than 25 years of professional involvement in the Irmo and Lake Murray communities.
“Irmo has been home to my career for more than 25 years,” Malizia said. “I was fortunate to be part of the team that developed, opened, and operated Irmo’s first two hotels in 1999. Later, as Director of Sales for Capital City/Lake Murray Country, I worked closely with local governments, businesses, and community leaders to promote tourism and economic development throughout the region.”
Malizia said his work with events such as the Lake Murray Fireworks Celebration, boat parades, fishing tournaments and sporting events was focused on strengthening the local economy and showcasing the region.
“When I founded Carolina Charcuterie Company in 2020, it felt like coming full circle — continuing to invest in and serve the same community that has meant so much to me throughout my career,” he said. “Every board we create and every event we cater is our way of bringing people together and celebrating the place we proudly call home.”
Malizia said receiving the recognition from the Town of Irmo is an honor and expressed appreciation for the support of customers, neighbors and the community.
The business serves a variety of customers, from individuals stopping in for lunch to large-scale events requiring full-service catering for hundreds of guests.
Carolina Charcuterie Company will be formally recognized during the Irmo Town Council meeting at 6 p.m. Tuesday, July 21, at the Irmo Municipal Building, 7300 Woodrow Street. Community members, neighbors and customers are invited to attend the presentation.
