Chad Raynor named Interim Principal for Piney Woods Elementary

District Five has named Chad Raynor as the interim principal of Piney Woods Elementary School. He succeeds Cassy (Paschal) Young, who has been appointed the district’s new coordinator of support staff.

“I am honored and humbled to serve as the interim principal at Piney Woods Elementary School,” Raynor said. “I am passionate about ensuring that every student is cared for and has the opportunity to achieve their full potential. I am excited to support the Piney Woods family and I am happy to be here.”

Raynor has served as the school’s acting principal for the past several weeks. He previously spent eight years as an assistant principal at Leaphart Elementary and also served in the same role at Dutch Fork Middle. He was recently named a finalist for South Carolina Elementary Assistant Principal of the Year by the South Carolina Association of School Administrators (SCASA).

“Chad Raynor brings a wealth of knowledge and a deep commitment to fostering a positive learning environment for students, teachers, staff, and the school community,” Superintendent Akil E. Ross, Sr. said. “We are thankful for his continued leadership and know Piney Woods Elementary School will continue to thrive under his supervision.”
