Palmetto Primary Care Physicians (PPCP) is now offering the Abbott ID NOW COVID-19 Molecular Test. The test is available to their 200,000+ patients and the general public in all three of their markets in Charleston, Columbia and Myrtle Beach.
The test is covered by most insurances and is used to diagnose an active COVID-19 infection. The test requires a nasal swab specimen and test results are available to the patient same-day.
The test is appropriate for individuals showing symptoms of COVID-19 or individuals who may think are currently infected with SARS-CoV-2. A drive-thru testing site has been set-up in Irmo at the Three Rivers Medical Associates at 7430 College Street, Irmo and is accepting appointments.
Established PPCP patients can call their medical provider’s office directly. The general public, or non-PPCP patients, can call the drive-thru testing facility directly at 803-732-4001.
PPCP has eight medical offices and 21 medical practitioners in the Midlands.
