IRMO – Dr. Tim Swick, Dual Enrollment Lead for Lexington-Richland School District Five, has been selected as a 2025–26 Computer Science Teachers Association (CSTA) Responsible AI Fellow.
“I am honored and excited to be named a Responsible AI Fellow with CSTA,” said Dr. Swick. “This opportunity will not only allow me to deepen my understanding of how AI can be used ethically and inclusively in education, but also strengthen my ability to create meaningful learning experiences for students and support educators in navigating emerging technologies.”
Dr. Swick has been instrumental in expanding access to computer science and artificial intelligence learning across District Five. In addition to leading the district’s dual enrollment program, he has spearheaded curriculum development aligned with state and national standards, and championed professional development for educators focused on design thinking, AI integration, and inclusive instructional practices. His collaborations with community partners and organizations like CSTA have helped build equitable pathways in computer science education, ensuring students are prepared to think critically about emerging technologies.
The CSTA Responsible AI Fellowship is a prestigious year-long leadership program that equips PreK–12 educators to develop ethical, inclusive, and transformative approaches to teaching AI. The fellowship brings together 15 fellows nationwide who will engage in professional learning with experts in the field, attend summits and virtual meetings, and collaborate on projects aimed at advancing responsible AI education.
Fellows also receive mentorship, resources, and recognition through CSTA, culminating in a showcase at the CSTA 2026 Annual Conference.
