District Five students shine at the SC Technology Student Association Conference

IRMO – Over forty students from the Center for Advanced Technical Studies (The Center) competed in the South Carolina Technology Student Association (TSA) Conference. Students representing engineering and architecture disciplines, digital art and media production, electricity technology, and the VEX robotics team placed in their respective competitions.

The Technological Student Association (TSA) is a non-profit organization of high school students interested in STEAM-related careers. The organization engages students through extracurricular activities, leadership opportunities, and community service. TSA chapters prepare students to be successful and creative problem solvers, responsible citizens, and leaders in a technological society.

In June, students who placed first in their respective state contests will participate in the National TSA Conference.

School District Five students won first place in Board Game Design, CAD Engineering, Digital Video Production,
Fashion Design and Technology, Flight Endurance, Manufacturing Prototype, Photographic Technology, Senior Solar Sprint, Technology Problem Solving, Transportation Modeling, and VEX Robotics.

School District Five students won second place in Audio Podcasting, Flight Endurance, On Demand Video, Promotional Design, STEM Mass Media, and Technology Problem Solving.

School District Five students received third place in Children’s Stories, Digital Video Production, Drone Challenge (UAV), On Demand Video and Technology Problem Solving.
