IRMO – Tari Tucker Watson, a Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) adviser at Irmo High School, has been selected as a 2025 recipient of the FCCLA Spirit of Advising Award. This national honor is awarded to only one chapter adviser per state each year, out of over 7,200 advisers across the United States.
“It is an extreme honor to be selected for the state of South Carolina,” Watson said. “There are many advisors doing extraordinary things throughout the state and it is wonderful to be acknowledged for my hard work and supporting my students, the school, and in the Irmo community.”
The Spirit of Advising Award recognizes exceptional advisers who consistently go above and beyond—not for recognition, but because they believe in their students, in the mission of FCCLA, and in the power of leadership to transform lives.
Watson’s dedication to student success goes far beyond classroom instruction. Whether she’s staying late to help a student prepare for competition, showing up early to set up for a chapter event, or offering quiet encouragement to a student leader, she is a driving force behind the success of Irmo High School’s FCCLA program.
Her influence can be seen not only through the accolades her chapter has earned but, more importantly, through the everyday moments of growth and leadership development she fosters in her students. She has created a learning environment where young people are empowered to find their voice, take initiative, and step confidently into leadership roles.
Watson will be formally recognized during the Adviser Recognition General Session at the 2025 FCCLA National Leadership Conference in Orlando, Florida.
