More than 300 local residents picked up their Golden Passes during Lexington-Richland School District Five’s special two-day sign-up event held July 22–23.
The Golden Pass is a permanent photo ID card offered to residents aged 60 and older. It provides free admission to most athletic and cultural arts events in School District Five—excluding playoff games. It’s a way to help seniors stay connected, engaged, and involved in the life of local schools.
“Golden Passes are our way of saying thank you to the seniors in our community,” said district officials. “They’ve supported our schools for years, and we want them to continue to be part of the excitement.”
If you missed the July event, don’t worry! Eligible residents can still get a temporary Golden Pass for the 2025–2026 school year by visiting the District Office at 1020 Dutch Fork Road in Irmo.
