Eagle Scout holds blood drive

Connor Moran completed his Eagle Scout Project on September 26 in Irmo. His project was a blood drive and he collected 54 units of blood. He is a member of BSA Troop 48 and a sophomore at Spring Hill High School.

Due to the pandemic, there is a critical need for blood in the community. The Blood Connection (TBC) brought the mobile unit to our neighborhood and the turnout was great. His goal was 30 units which is what TBC requires.

Connor would have had an estimated 60 plus units if there had been another mobile unit. Connor recruited former teachers, neighbors, friends, and family to donate. The Irmo community really supported this project. Connor’s fellow scouts and leaders were essential to his success.
