Enoree River Winery announces the music line up

As the Summer season cools, folks turn their attention to getting back outdoors and Newberry’s Enoree River Winery offers a setting for outdoor fun.

The free music series Unpack the Porch returns to the vineyard for weekly performances starting September 10 and runs through November 19.

Richard and Laura LaBarre, owners, and winemakers, announced the return of their free live music series which takes place from 2 – 6 p.m. on Sunday afternoons.

The series kicks off with music from a local SC talent, Watson & Autrey, and is followed by 9 weeks of performance. Local acts include favorites such as the Time Pirates, Mandy Addy, the Killer Beez, Henry Brooks & Bluegrass Remedy, as well as the debut performance of artist Jackson Trulock.

A special performance with Jim LeBlanc, Noel Lindler and the Bank Walkers will take place on October 14 for the annual Newberry Harvest Festival at the vineyard. The vineyard will be open on October 15, with the music series and wine tastings suspended for the day. Wine will be available for purchase by the glass or bottle.

The full list of Fall dates, bands and food trucks is listed below.

Originally named “Pack the Porch,” the idea was to fill the winery’s wrap-around porch with the lively sound of music as visitors enjoyed live entertainment and a variety of real fruit wines made onsite. With the advent of the pandemic, the LaBarre’s decided to rename the series for the comfort and security of their guests. Unpack the Porch takes place in spring and fall, with a short summer hiatus due to the heat. It is celebrating its fifth year with the 2023 season.

The winery spreads out over 11 acres and guests are encouraged to bring a lawn chair or blanket for their comfort, as well as walk the grounds to see the vines in their various stages of growth before the fall harvest. Guests can buy wine by the glass or by the bottle or even indulge in a wine slushie. The changing food truck schedule allows repeat visitors the opportunity to enjoy a different meal or snack with each visit. Supporting the food trucks is a great opportunity to support small local businesses but also to ensure their return visit for future performance, no outside food, drinks, cups, or coolers are allowed.

Known for its Wine Tastings along with a list of seasonal varieties, Enoree River Winery makes its wines of 100 percent real juice without chemical enhancements. Tastings are suspended during Sunday’s music series. Guests are encouraged to visit Thursdays through Saturdays for the tasting experience during the Fall UnPack the Porch series. The series ends November 19.
