Farewell luncheon for Town Admin

Town Administrator Courtney Dennis was recognized at a luncheon Tuesday, June 17, in his honor for all the years he has served the Town of Irmo.

Courtney’s first employment with the Town of Irmo was in July 2002 and his last day will be in July, 2025.
Dennis has served the town as a patrolman, investigator, Captain, and the 32nd Chief of Police and currently as the Town Administrator.

Todays’s luncheon was attended by council members, friends, town employees and law enforcement. Dennis was presented with an award by Mayor Bill Danielson as a small token for his service. “In the time that I’ve had with Courtney, his leadership and presence for the job has been remarkable,” said Danielson. “We certainly are going to miss him.”

Dennis is returning to the private sector after 23 years of community service. “I will miss this and all of you,” said Dennis who was visibly moved. “You will never know how much you’ve meant to me.”
The luncheon was held in the municipal building and Shealy’s BBQ catered the event.
