FREE Mental Health First Aid Training Session: Empowering Adults to Recognize and Address Mental Health Issues

West Columbia, SC – On Saturday, May 18, 2024, from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, the community is invited to participate in a FREE Mental Health First Aid Training session. Hosted at the SCEA located at 2999 Sunset Boulevard, West Columbia, SC 29169, this day-long program aims to equip adults with the knowledge and skills needed to recognize and effectively respond to mental health challenges.

The event is co-sponsored by PAGE Five, Hold Out the Lifeline, The SCEA (the SC Education Association), and CEWL (Center for Educator Wellness & Learning). It is open to all interested adults, including parents, students (at least 18 years old), teachers, staff, and community members.

Participants will receive comprehensive training on identifying various mental health issues and learning appropriate strategies for providing initial assistance. Completion of the course can qualify attendees for Certification.

Lunch will be provided for all participants. Due to limited capacity, interested individuals are encouraged to register as soon as possible, with registration closing on May 11th. Registrants are kindly asked to cancel their registration if they are unable to attend, allowing those on the waiting list to participate.
