Gear Up for Kinetic Derby Day and iMAGINE Festival in West Columbia!

Mark your calendars for the much-anticipated Kinetic Derby Day featuring iMAGINE, set to unfold in West Columbia on April 20 from 10:30 am to 3:30 pm. This lively event kicks off with the Kinetic Sculpture Parade, leading the way for soapbox and obstacle course racing. State Street undergoes a magical transformation into the iMAGINE STEAM Festival, fostering creativity and showcasing interactive exhibits in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math (STEAM) for Pre-K through 12th-grade students and families.

The day promises a mix of competition and fun for all ages, with teams constructing unique vehicles and art installations. Whether you’re interested in building, racing, sponsoring, volunteering, or vending, register now at to be part of the excitement.

The iMAGINE STEAM Festival on State Street is a hub of engaging exhibits, providing an immersive experience in STEAM subjects and careers. The Kids’ Zone, presented by the Boys and Girls Club, adds to the excitement with an exhibition of soapbox racing tailored for the little ones.

At the base of the hill, a food truck rally awaits, and West Columbia’s Interactive Art Park hosts the Meeting Street Artisan Market. Meanwhile, the corner of Meeting and State Streets features an exhilarating giant slide for added thrills.
