Collette is a native of Massachusetts. She worked as a finance manager and bookkeeper in Charleston before retiring. Collette relocated to Lexington in 2015. She received instructions on oil and acrylic from Michael Storey, Dale Bishop, Barbie Mathis, and pencil by Gretchen Parker.
Collette has been a member of the Crooked Creek Art League since 2019, and won juried show first place winner in 2020 and 2021.
Her paintings have been shown at the South Carolina State Fair the past two years. She has been influenced by Hudson River School Mid-century art movement.
“My desire is to reflect the love I have for the beauty of our world,” Collette said.
