Irmo Chamber Names Dutch Fork Student and Teacher of the Month

The Greater Irmo Chamber of Commerce has announced its Student and Teacher of the Month, honoring Kelly Eckstrom and Andre St. Marie from Dutch Fork High School for their outstanding contributions to the school community.

Teacher of the Month Kelly Eckstrom has dedicated 20 years to Dutch Fork High as a beloved social studies teacher. In addition to her classroom instruction, she leads the Beta Club, curates a personal museum of South Carolina artifacts, and is known for her talent as a photographer. “She is loved by her students and fellow teachers,” said Principal Reed Gunter. “We are so happy she is part of the Dutch Fork family.”

Student of the Month Andre St. Marie is a senior and currently serves as Student Body President. A standout student and soccer player, Andre plans to attend Midlands Technical College after graduation to pursue a career as a mechanic. “He is a phenomenal student,” said Gunter. “We are so proud of him and know he will be successful in all his future endeavors.”

The Chamber recognizes these individuals for their leadership, commitment, and positive impact on Dutch Fork High School.
