Another Irmo Little League team is headed to the Southeast Regional.
The 10,11 and 12 group were victorious in three games at the state tournament in Greenwood. They opened with a 10-0 shutout win over Barriers Island on July 16, then defeated Northwood 8-2 two days later.
On Monday, Irmo Little League beat Northwood again 2-0 to claim the state title. They will now head to Warner Robbins, Ga. for the Southeast Regional Tournament starting Aug. 4.
The Irmo Little League Intermediate, Senior and Junior baseball teams will also begin play in the Southeast Regionals Friday.
The Intermediate tournament will take place in Tennessee, while the Seniors will compete in Safety Harbor, Fla. The Juniors team will play host to the Southeast Regionals starting Friday at Friarsgate Park.
