Safety Town at Leaphart Elementar

SC Career Kids hosted a Safety Town program July 20 and 21 at Leaphart Elementary School, giving students an opportunity to explore a variety of careers through interactive, hands-on experiences.

The event featured 16 professionals demonstrating aspects of their work environments for children ranging from 4K through sixth grade.

SC Career Kids provides opportunities for children of all ages to explore different professions through interactive experiences during their formative years. Programs are designed to help students develop critical thinking, communication, collaboration and creativity while engaging with experts from a variety of fields.

The Safety Town program taught children basic safety skills involving traffic signals, dental care, hospitals, grocery stores, railroad crossings, farming and other areas. The program also introduced students to the variety of careers that help serve the community.

During the event, Doctors Matt and Amanda Boyeson of Midlands Family Chiropractic discussed chiropractic procedures and explained how their service dog, Ellie, assists with patient care.
