IRMO – Mayor Bill Danielson has been selected by the Nominating Committee of the Association of South Carolina Mayors (ASCM) to fill an unexpired one-year term on the organization’s Board of Directors.
The appointment recognizes Danielson’s leadership in municipal government and gives the Town of Irmo greater representation in statewide discussions affecting South Carolina’s cities and towns.
The ASCM Board of Directors meets twice each year to develop educational and training opportunities for South Carolina mayors, discuss legislative priorities at the State House, and coordinate initiatives designed to strengthen municipalities across the state. The organization also hosts mayoral forums during Hometown Legislative Action Day and the Municipal Association of South Carolina’s Annual Meeting, allowing local leaders to collaborate and share best practices.
The appointment follows another recent leadership honor for Danielson, who was selected to serve on the 2026 Small Cities Council for the National League of Cities.
“I am honored to be selected to serve on the Association of South Carolina Mayors Board of Directors,” Danielson said. “This opportunity allows me to represent the Town of Irmo while working alongside mayors from across our state to exchange ideas and further advocate for our Irmo communities. Local governments each face unique opportunities and challenges, and I look forward to bringing those conversations back to Irmo as we build a community where residents and businesses continue to thrive.”
Danielson’s appointment further expands Irmo’s presence in state and national municipal organizations, providing additional opportunities to advocate for issues affecting the community while strengthening partnerships with local government leaders throughout South Carolina.
