Members of the Irmo Police Department’s code enforcement division are now providing a handout to lower-income, elderly, and disabled Irmo citizens who face potential fines for property code violations.
The handout explains how recipients can apply for assistance from the Irmo Outreach Committee if they qualify. A notice of abatement is normally provided to code violators, but having one issued is not necessary in order to apply. Nonprofit grant funding provided by the Town of Irmo was used to pay for printing of the new handouts, as well as for a new trailer, a new riding mower, and related lawn care and construction equipment.
Irmo citizens may apply for help without notice from Irmo Police by visiting www.irmooutreach.help.
