Irmo Police Arrest Man on Drug Trafficking and Weapons Charges

The Irmo Police Department arrested Joseph Seth Braxton at a residence in the New Friarsgate community on May 20, 2026, at approximately 10:30 a.m.

Braxton faces multiple charges, including possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime, drug trafficking, possession with intent to distribute, and possession of a controlled substance.

According to police, officers executed a search warrant at the residence, which resulted in the seizure of a significant quantity of drugs, firearms, and cash. Items recovered include:

  • Approximately 106 ounces of marijuana
  • At least 9 ounces of THC vape products
  • 46 ounces of THC wax
  • 3 grams of LSD
  • Three alprazolam pills
  • 2.6 ounces of psilocybin
  • Approximately $11,400 in U.S. currency

Authorities also confiscated multiple firearms, including:

  • Three semi-automatic handguns
  • One revolver
  • Two assault-style rifles
  • One shotgun
  • Assorted ammunition

Braxton was transported to the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center, where he is currently being held.
