Irmo Town Council Candidate, Gabriel Penfield attends SC Philharmonic Pub Crawl

Irmo Town Council candidate, Gabriel Penfield, engaged with the community during a unique event featuring SC Philharmonic musicians at Craft and Draft in Irmo on Wednesday, January 24. The philharmonic organized a pub crawl, sending small ensembles of musicians to neighborhood watering holes, bringing music directly into the communities.

During the performance at Craft and Draft, a string quartet entertained an enthusiastic audience. The musicians not only performed but also interacted with patrons, providing insights into each piece before playing.

Gabriel Penfield, vying for the seat vacated by Bill Danielson in the upcoming Feb. 27 Irmo special election, took the opportunity to connect with constituents. Running on a business platform, Penfield aims to encourage greater citizen involvement in local politics.

Penfield’s opponent in the special election is George Frazier, who was disqualified in November’s election for failing to report a change of address within the required timeframe. The special election, with a term of two years, was prompted by Danielson’s election as mayor in November. Councilman Erik Sickinger was also re-elected to a four-year term.

Craft and Draft, located in the Irmo Village Shopping Center at 7583 St. Andrews Rd., hosted this community-focused event. For inquiries, they can be reached at 803-708-4331.
