Aaron Brand, Head Football Coach at Irmo High School, has received the prestigious recognition of being named the Carolina Panthers High School Football Coach of the Week. This accolade is part of the Panthers’ High School Football Coach of the Week program presented by GMC.
In expressing his gratitude, Coach Brand credited the exceptional coaching staff and the dedicated efforts of the Irmo football community. He said, “I accept this award with great humility knowing that none of this would be possible without the outstanding coaching staff that we have and our player’s unbelievable desire to work their tails off daily. I am honored to be recognized for this outstanding opportunity!”
High school football coaches in North and South Carolina are eligible for the High School Coach of the Week presented by GMC award. Weekly selections are based on individual milestone achievements and significant wins during the regular season. The award also acknowledges the coaches’ outstanding contributions to their players, communities, and the development of grassroots football.
As part of the recognition, Irmo High School will receive a $1000 grant to support its athletic department. The honorees were celebrated during an on-field presentation at the Panthers’ home game against the Atlanta Falcons at Bank of America Stadium on Sunday, December 17.
Riley Fields, Carolina Panthers Director of Community Relations, expressed pride in recognizing coaches who make a significant impact beyond the playing field. He stated, “The Carolina Panthers and GMC are proud to recognize some of the region’s most outstanding high school football coaches who give tirelessly to their teams, schools, and communities. The impact made by these coaches goes well beyond the playing field.”
