On May 24th Governor Henry McMaster held the second annual Governor’s Law Enforcement Officer of the Year ceremony, to publicly commend exceptional law enforcement professionals statewide. Senior Corporal Chris Kaderly of the Irmo Police Department was one of the 13 finalists selected, his category being Municipal Law Enforcement Officer of the Year. Officers are nominated for their professionalism, dedication to duty, community service, valor, and innovation in the profession.
“We are extremely proud of Senior Corporal Kaderly for his hard work, unwavering dedication and the selflessness he’s exhibited, risking his own life to save the life of a citizen,” said Irmo Police Chief Bobby Dale.
Senior Corporal Kaderly entered a burning apartment in an attempt to save a citizen from a fire removing the person who, unbeknownst to Kaderly, had unfortunately succumbed to the fire.
“Today we recognized the best of the best in South Carolina law enforcement,” Governor Henry McMaster said. “These outstanding men and women are the finest in the profession, and I admire their commitment to service and duty. The people of South Carolina are truly fortunate to have such dedicated professionals protecting them every day.”
Congratulations Senior Corporal Kaderly, we thank your for your service and for exemplifying our core values of Integrity, Professionalism and Dependability.
