Former school board member, Larry Haltiwanger, has announced his support for Tifani Moore in the special election for the Richland County side of School District Five of Lexington and Richland Counties.
“First thing I look for is what kind of spirit a person has,” Haltiwanger said. “When I met Tifani, I saw a humble and kindred spirit who has a natural love for children.”
Haltiwanger recognizes individuals who are devoted to bettering the lives of children. He is a lay leader at St. Paul AME Church in Irmo and has volunteered for their youth programs throughout his life.
Haltiwanger said he admired Moore for devoting herself to leadership roles in our district schools where she serves as the School Improvement Council (SIC) Chair at Crossroads Middle, served as the SIC vice chair at Dutch Fork Middle School, is president of the Dutch Fork High School Softball Boosters and on a District-wide textbook adoption committee.
Haltiwanger says what makes Tifani different is that she will help restore trust and sanity on the board.
“I see Tifani as an independent voice who will listen to parents across the district and someone who will not bend to political pressure or the loud screams of a vocal minority of citizens,” said Haltiwanger.
“With this virus at record levels, we want someone with common sense who will make decisions to protect our students, teachers, staff, families and community,” Haltiwanger said.
“I am voting for Tifani Moore for our D5 School Board and encourage other people to vote for a positive change on our board.”
The special election for the school board will be held October 12, from 7 am – 7 pm. To find out more about Tifani Moore, visit her Facebook page @mooreforLR5 or visit her website at: tifanimoorefor LR5schoolboard.
