Leaphart Elementary School STEAM Magnet recently marked a milestone by celebrating its 50th Anniversary.
The event was not just a celebration of the past but also a reflection of the school’s commitment to providing quality education in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM).
The anniversary celebration was held at the school with an assembly that brought together past and present students, staff, and alumni. Attendees shared memories and stories from their time at Leaphart. Special recognition was given to former principals and staff members who played roles in shaping the school’s journey over the past five decades.
Students showcased their talents during the event, contributing to the celebration in various ways. They presented essays reflecting on their experiences at Leaphart and the impact the school has had on their lives. These essays highlighted the importance of community and the nurturing environment fostered by the educators at Leaphart.
In addition to written reflections, students entertained the audience with a musical performance. The song, Leaphart Glory, was inspired by their school experiences.
One of the highlights of the assembly was the Step Team routine, which showcased the school’s commitment to the arts. The Step Team performed a routine that combined rhythm, movement, and teamwork.
