IRMO, SC – On Monday, March 24, the Lexington-Richland School District Five Board of Trustees recognized 69 students who were awarded grants to fund their innovative projects. The students were introduced during the board’s regular meeting at the Center for Advanced Technical Studies (CATS Center), where they received checks from the District 5 Foundation and their business sponsors.
Each grant recipient developed a project, created a budget, and formulated a plan for execution. Funding for these grants was made possible through sponsorships from the D5 Foundation and support from dozens of local businesses within the school district.
Among the recipients, Olivia Meihofer was presented with a grant check by Irmo Mayor Bill Danielson and District 5 Board Co-Chair Dr. Matt Boyeson, highlighting the strong community support for student-driven initiatives.
The program encourages creativity, problem-solving, and real-world application of skills, equipping students with the resources needed to bring their ideas to life.
