McGregor Presbyterian to Conduct Two Workshops in January on Dementia

As part of its Community Workshop Series, McGregor Presbyterian Church is offering two free programs on dementia in January. These workshops, led by Ms. Tori Anderson, a Certified Dementia Practitioner and Dementia Care Specialist with the S.C. Department on Aging, are open to the public and aim to provide valuable resources and strategies for those affected by dementia.

Workshop Details

  1. Dementia 101
    • When: Tuesday, January 21, 6:30 p.m.
    • What: A general introduction to dementia, covering types, stages, warning signs, risk factors, navigating a diagnosis, treatments, care planning, and available resources.
  2. Dementia 201
    • When: Tuesday, January 28, 6:30 p.m.
    • What: Practical communication and problem-solving strategies to foster meaningful relationships throughout a dementia diagnosis.
