McGregor’s Community Earth Day Celebration on April 15th

David Jenkins (pictured), entomologist from the SC Forestry Service taught the Irmo community about edible insects and more at the recent Earth Day Celebration at McGregor’s Learning Garden.

Other presenters included: Carolina Wildlife Center, Congaree River Keepers, Environmental Education Association of SC, HERO Homeschoolers, Keep the Midlands Beautiful, Lexington County Soil & Water Conservation District, Midlands Bee Keepers, McGregor Presbyterian’s Green Team, SC Green Step Schools, SC Master Gardeners, SC Native Plant Society, and USC’s School of the Environment.

Area businesses that supported this event included: Irmo News, Natural Awakenings Magazine, C. R. Burton’s Maryland Style Seafood, Seven Oaks Plant Shop, Wild Birds Unlimited, ReSoil Compost, Sal’s Ol’ Timey Feed & Seed, and Luzianna Purchase.
