Mike Ward for School Board

To whom it may concern,

I am supporting Mike Ward in his candidacy for the Lexington-Richland 5 School Board. I have worked with Mike quite a bit over the last few years on the Okra Strut Commission and I think he would be a natural as a school board member.

He is dedicated, level-headed, works well with a variety of people and is excellent at listening and taking new ideas and suggestions into account. He takes the time to research and truly understand an issue before making decisions, but he is also open to new ideas and change as well.

Mike is the kind of person who dedicates himself to whatever he is working on, and I have been impressed with his ability to manage projects, meetings, and events. I have seen him straightforwardly work through both minor issues and larger, major issues as well. All while maintaining a cheerful and friendly demeanor and handling subordinate committee members and volunteers with respect and kindness.

One of the things I admire about Mike is the energy and passion he brings to any project or activity that he is involved with. Even in the face of adversity, he can stay positive and move the project forward successfully. He is an effective and tireless advocate, and I think he will bring those admirable characteristics to the Lexington-Richland 5 School Board.

Mike knows this district; his kids currently attend schools in this district, and he has worked with multiple schools within the district as they send volunteer groups for the Okra Strut. The school board will benefit by having a smart, articulate, and sincere person acting on behalf of the students, parents, and faculty. I urge us all to support him on election day this November.

Sincerely,

Kristin Wilcox
