The 5th graders at Nursery Road Elementary School-Arts Magnet (NRES-AM), in preparation for the Creating Original Opera project, participated in two field trips.
February 1, they took part in a Field Experience to the SC State Museum and Planetarium where they explored the various floors of the building as well as a tour and showing by the planetarium staff.
The opera script is set at a museum/planetarium where the students also attended a lock-in as extra credit for a school project.
On February 9, the students attended a lock-in at NRES-AM.
The title of the Opera is “Lights Out. Lock In.” and will be performed March 25 and March 26 at 6 pm.
