PAGE Five Announces 2025 Tami Richardson Gifted & Talented Scholarship Winner

IRMO, S.C. – PAGE Five is proud to announce that Raheem O’Sullivan, a 2025 graduate of Irmo High School, has been selected as the recipient of the 2025 Tami Richardson Gifted & Talented Scholarship. This annual $1,000 merit-based award recognizes outstanding achievement among gifted and talented students in Lexington-Richland School District Five.

Raheem, the son of Gillian Dreher and Nils O’Sullivan and stepson of Terry Dreher, will attend Midlands Technical College, where he plans to major in Computer Engineering. After completing his program, he hopes to pursue a career with technology companies, contributing to greater efficiency and usability in the field.

Raheem said the scholarship will help him focus on his studies while gaining valuable internship experience:
“This scholarship will allow me to fully focus on my studies with less stress, and allow me to gain valuable practical experiences through internships.”

Reflecting on his most influential Gifted & Talented experience, Raheem credited his teachers and coursework:
“All the Honors and AP programs I have taken were very engaging, largely due to my teachers. They helped me develop a mindset that led me to the Honors course for Networking and Cybersecurity at The Center for Advanced Technical Studies. It showed me how the internet works at a deeper scale and why securing it is so important for protecting our data.”

During high school, Raheem served as Vice President of Communications and Technology for the Irmo High School Chapter of Future Business Leaders of America, participated in the SkillsUSA Chapter at The Center for Advanced Technical Studies, and was a member of the National Honor Society.

He expressed gratitude for the educators who supported him along the way:
“I would like to extend a sincere thank you to Principal Dr. Kaaren Hampton, Counselor Ms. Porsha Mumford, Career Specialist Ms. Jennifer Etheredge, all my teachers, and Lexington-Richland School District Five for their invaluable support in helping me get to where I am today.”

To be eligible for the PAGE Five Tami Richardson Gifted & Talented Scholarship, applicants must be seniors in District Five enrolled in IB, AP, or Honors coursework, on track to graduate in the spring, and accepted to college for the fall. Selection is based on academic achievement and the quality of an application essay.
