Pelion Man Arrested on Drug and Gun Charges

Pelion, S.C. – A 22-year-old man has been arrested and faces serious charges after a drug raid in Pelion last week.

Juan Enrique Escobar Doroteo was taken into custody by Lexington County narcotics agents. He is accused of trafficking fentanyl and faces charges for having a gun during a violent crime and for being an unlawful alien in possession of a weapon.

The arrest happened after officers searched a house on Bush Berry Road. During the search, agents found over 253 grams of fentanyl, a handgun, ammunition, and more than $9,000 in cash.

“Thanks to the hard work of our narcotics agents and the DEA, we were able to take these dangerous drugs and weapons off the streets,” said Lexington County Sheriff Jay Koon.

Doroteo is being held at the Lexington County Detention Center.
