Providence Home Celebrates New Dormitory on N. Main St.

Providence Home, a transitional ministry for men, is expanding with a new dormitory at 3421 N. Main Street. The 2-story brick building is not only a beautiful addition to an already improving streetscape on North Main Street, but also adds 27 beds to the campus, almost doubling the ministry’s housing capacity for men in need.

There will be a ceremonial dedication from 11:00 am -12:00 noon on Tuesday, August 25th to celebrate. The public is invited to attend.

Burriss Building Systems is the contractor for this design-build project, with architectural services provided by John Powell of Seed Architecture.

Board Chairman Bill Cogdill says, “The staff and board of directors at Providence Home are proud to unveil a project which has been many years in planning and development. Residents will have a place to call home and be provided food, a safe environment, and loving care, as well as many holistic services. They will have the opportunity to lift themselves up with respect and appreciation.”

Those driving by on North Main Street will see additional changes to the growing campus. “Many people drive by and do not know who we are or what we do. New signage and a new logo will hopefully help bring awareness to the ministry of Providence Home. Our desire is to help men in our community and beyond to fulfill their purpose and reunite with their families,” says Executive Director, Rob Settle.

Attendees are encouraged to RSVP at https://providencehomecolumbia.org/events.html and to wear a mask.

Among those attending will be:

Rob Settle, Executive Director, Providence Home
Bill Cogdill, Chairman, Providence Home Board of Directors
W.T. “Tobin” Cassels, III, President, Southeastern Freight Lines
Steven Mungo, Michael J. Mungo Foundation
