Richland County Looking for Residents to Join Boards and Committees

If you’ve ever wanted to get more involved in your community, now’s your chance! Richland County is seeking residents to fill openings on various boards, committees, and panels—and they need your help.

The County Council is accepting applications through 5 p.m. on April 4 for a variety of positions, from tax committees to workforce development. Whether you have experience in hospitality, construction, public procurement, or even as a CPA, there’s an opportunity for you to contribute.

Here are some of the openings:

Accommodations Tax Committee – 6 vacancies (lodging, hospitality, and cultural backgrounds needed)

Board of Assessment Appeals – 1 vacancy

Building Codes Board of Appeals – 6 vacancies (architecture, gas, plumbing, electrical, and fire industry reps needed)

Business Service Center Appeals Board – 2 vacancies (CPAs only)

Employee Grievance Committee – 3 vacancies (for Richland County employees)

Hospitality Tax Committee – 5 vacancies (restaurant industry reps needed)

Midlands Workforce Development Committee – 1 vacancy (private sector rep needed)
Procurement Review Panel – 5 vacancies (representing construction, professional services, service, public procurement, and consumer industries)
