SC Career Kids held their Career Camp this year from June 19-22 in partnership with the Greater Irmo Chamber of Commerce. This year 26 career experts talk with the campers who are all elementary grade school children.
This year’s camp was full with 34 campers and 6 camp counselors with over 100 years of educational experience.
The four-day camp involved the children with creating a market and learning monetary and trade customs. They practiced learning skills: critical thinking, creative thinking, communicating and collaboration. These skills help them understand career opportunities by watching and participating with career experts at and early age.
