Lexington-Richland School District Five has named a new director of finance for the district.
Experienced, professional accountant Connie Frick was approved by the Board of Trustees on Nov. 16 to serve in the role. Frick has served as both a senior accountant and an accountant for the district since 2009 and is a CPA. She replaces Bruce Shealy, who is retiring in December.
“I am humbled, honored and grateful to have been selected to serve as Director of Finance for School District Five,” Frick said. “This opportunity allows me to continue to serve the students and staff of the district. I look forward to continuing to work with and in support of a great team of employees dedicated to a common goal of academic success for the students of School District Five.”
Frick received her bachelor of science degree in business administration and accounting from the University of South Carolina, where she graduated cum laude. In addition to her work in School District Five, she served as an auditor, accountant and owned a small tax and payroll business. She has over 29 years of diverse experience in business accounting, which includes audit, internal audit, bookkeeping, and payroll.
“Ms. Frick already brings a wealth of professional experience and knowledge to the Office of Finance that will ensure we continue to provide excellence to our staff and students,” said School District Five Superintendent Dr. Christina Melton. “She has already made a positive impact in our district, and we look forward to her continued work in School District Five.
Congratulations, Ms. Frick!”
