Lincoln Spain represents Irmo on the international stage
Lincoln Spain, a sixth-grade student at Spring Hill Middle School, recently had the opportunity to represent Team USA as a member of the 2014 Boys U.S. Youth Futsal National Team, competing against the top young futsal players in South America.
Spain earned his spot on the national team by advancing through the South Carolina state tryouts, then traveling to Richmond, Virginia, to compete in the U.S. Youth Futsal National tryouts, where he was selected among the nation’s top players in his age group.
As a member of Team USA, Lincoln traveled to Foz do Iguacu, Brazil, where he competed against elite your teams from Brazil, Argentina and Paraguay. The international experience provided him the opportunity to test his skills against some of the world’s strongest futsal talent while representing both his country and the local Irmo community on an international stage.
Locally, Lincoln plays with South Carolina United and One Futsal Club, where he continues to develop his technical ability and passion for the game.
