As election season approaches, here are some important guidelines regarding temporary political signs in the Town:
- No Permits Required: From September 21st to November 12th, you can display temporary political signs without needing a permit.
- Placement Rules: Signs must be placed only on private property and not in public areas like sidewalks, medians, or near traffic signals. Signs found in these locations will be removed as litter. If your sign is confiscated, you can retrieve it from the Public Service Building at Irmo Town Hall.
- Size Limits: Signs on non-residential properties can be up to 16 square feet, while residential properties are limited to 4 square feet. Banners are allowed up to 32 square feet.
Be sure to follow these guidelines as we head into election season!
