Open Letter
I happen to be following a school bus on Coldstream Drive few days ago and the bus made four stops between Nursery Rd and Bush River Road.
It was annoying to wait every 500 or so yards while the bus let out 2-3 students each stop. I was wondering why the bus was still stopped even though the students had disembarked and headed towards their homes.
Then I realized the safety minded driver was watching every child to ensure they had either entered the porch, if they lived off Coldstream Drive, or well inside their subdivision before turning the lights and the stop signs off.
I used to be annoyed how frequently the buses stopped but not anymore. Safety of school children is most important and I take my hat off to all the school bus drivers for observing safe transportation practices.
