Lexington County Firefighters responded to an overturned vehicle on St. Andrews Road in front of Murraywood Shopping center June 14.
The first responders used the jaws of life to extricate the driver through the roof of the vehicle. The driver was trapped in the SUV after it landed on its side from colliding with another vehicle. The driver suffered moderate injuries that were not life threatening.
Irmo Fire was on two alarm fire call at River Oaks Apartments when the accident happened and through multi-jurisdictional coverage Lexington was able to respond. Fire departments across the Midlands often work together to ensure that there are resources available and emergency calls are handled.
