Emmaus Church held a ground-breaking celebration on October 8 for its Irmo location.
The church, which opened in late 2019, plans to open its new 11,023-foot building at 5170 Bush River Road in the spring of 2024.
“This is an exciting next step for a community that has grown in its faith and commitment since launching right before a global pandemic,” said Nick Cunningham, lead pastor. “A building is great, but our vision is for a church beyond four walls that serves all of our neighbors.”
Emmaus currently meets at 10 a.m. each Sunday at the River Center at Saluda Shoals Park.
“We have met and engaged so many great neighbors in a short time and we can’t wait to have a central place for worship, service and healing in Irmo,” said Jessica Crowson, chair of the Emmaus Church board.
