After an extensive investigation involving multiple witness interviews and the review of surveillance footage from nearby businesses, Chelsie B. Pittman was identified as the individual at fault for the collision. The charges brought against her include Felony Driving Under the Influence, resulting in death; Habitual Offender, Causing Death when the license has been canceled, suspended, or revoked; and Driving Under Suspension, 3rd or Subsequent Offense. In a statement released by Chief Bobby Dale, he expressed the gravity of the situation, stating, “Our officers have been investigating this horrific crash non-stop since last night. “Because of Pittman’s poor decision, we have two families whose lives are changed forever,” Chief Dale remarked. He urged individuals to consider the consequences of impaired driving, emphasizing the devastating impact it can have on innocent lives.
The Irmo Police Department’s commitment to ensuring justice for the victims and their families is evident in the thorough investigation and prompt arrest of the responsible individual.
