IRMO, SC – Lexington-Richland School District Five has officially named Dr. Angie Slatton as the new principal of Seven Oaks Elementary Global Magnet.
Dr. Slatton has been serving as interim principal since August and brings 30 years of experience in education and leadership to the role. Before becoming interim principal, she worked as the district’s director of special services for nearly a decade. She has also served as a grant director at the State Department of Education and as a special education teacher.
“I am deeply honored to take on this role at Seven Oaks,” Dr. Slatton said. “It’s a privilege to work with such a diverse and vibrant school community. My focus is on fostering inclusive and innovative learning environments and empowering students to reach their full potential.”
Dr. Slatton earned her bachelor’s degree in history and a master’s degree in secondary social studies from Winthrop University. She holds a doctorate in educational administration from the University of South Carolina.

School District Five Superintendent Dr. Akil E. Ross, Sr. praised Dr. Slatton’s leadership during her time as interim principal. “She has shown she is the kind of leader who can guide Seven Oaks into a bright future. Her vision will inspire others to support students in every area of their education,” he said.
Dr. Slatton looks forward to working with teachers, staff, parents, and students to build on the school’s strengths and traditions.
