Regardless of the level, Alaina Coates has come away with a championship ring.
It started at Dutch Fork High School where she won back-to-back Class 4A titles in 2012 and 2013.
Coates then headed to the University of South Carolina where she finished her career as a member of the 2017 national championship team.
Last week, Coates completed the championship trifecta for the Las Vegas Aces who won their second straight WNBA title. The Aces defeated the New York Liberty in four games led by fellow Gamecock and Finals MVP A’ja Wilson.
A former first-round pick (second overall) by the Chicago Sky, Coates signed with the Aces on Aug. 2. After six games, she was signed to play the rest of the season.
